The Disney Afternoon Collection has my inner child screaming with joy

One of the first games I ever really invested myself in was Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers for the NES.  I was five, and I would always try to get my Dad to play it with me.  He was always reluctant, probably because I would pick him up and throw him into enemies constantly (I wasn’t the best teammate).  It was an amazing game for its time.  It felt just like the show.  It had the catchy theme music.  In short, it blew my tiny little mind.  Today is a good day.  Capcom has announced The Disney Afternoon Collection for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC for $19.99.  The collection includes Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 1 & 2, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales 1 & 2 and Tale Spin.  The even better news is that it’s releasing April 18th, not long to wait!

All these games flood back memories from my childhood.  Watching the tv shows and collecting all the toys.  Hopefully they sell enough to encourage Disney to start remaking all of their classic shows, Duck Tales is a good start though.  Who wouldn’t want an updated Darkwing Duck tv series (if you said no, we can’t be friends).  I honestly have no shame in playing these even if my kids don’t want to.  I’ll be buying it for PS4 and I will be getting platinum trophies for them ALL.  The games are coming with updated HD graphics (with filters if you want the retro look).  New features include a “Rewind” mode that lets you travel back in time and recover, fixing any mistakes you may have made.  There will also be Boss Rush and Time Attack modes with online leaderboards.  I’ve been dying to get my hands on Persona 5 but now I’ve got my eyes on the prize.  Why can’t it be April 18th already? – NVJ
